Hello if you can't remember exact dates do put in a month/year and in brackets (approx) and yes you do repeat yourself in those sections. Not 100% on car question, but someone will know, if you don't get an answer start a new thread for this question.

    Best wishes

There is a section for vehicles (3.8 i think) that have been transfered, yes the OR can check if a car has been registered to you recently, what is the current posision of he vehicle ie worth and finance

If [not you, If] completing IS forms on-line, the dates only go back tot the turn of the century......this century.....nearly all my cards had been in place for between 5 and 15 years beforehand....s nearly all had a2000 year date...this was pointed out to the OR, who was fine about it all.....and explained to me the below.

Therefore, dates only need to be approximate...and appear to be only used to determine if the potential BR has in fact taken out cards fairly recently....

[Also we have a car that my husband bought and still has a small amount on finance. It was in my name until last Oct when I transfered to his once he found out about all my debt. He has receipts and bills with his name on just wondering if they check with dvla my name would be on there till oct of last yr should I put this in the car section ????
    thanks again[/QUOTE]

Yes the OR will look upon this as disposing of an asset pre bankruptcy and as such will want to know how much it is worth in terms of contributing towards your debts if it was sold.

Having read this thread I really do believe you need to seek further advice, both and your husband, to fully understand the implications of you declaring yourself bankrupt.

  • Thanks every one for your reply's. The car is worth 7000 and 600 of finance left on it in husbands name. After chatting today we are thinking now it maybe the wrong thing as hub is worried about the house. but i don't see a way out of it. Suppose it would be a dmp.
thanks again for help really appreciate it

Is this a recent thing? as I had no problem putting down dates pre 2000.

I completed my on-line forms roughly around January 2009......the form software would not accept any date pre-Jan 2000!

I queried this with IS and was told not to worry, as for long-established cards the start dates were not relevant...and I couldn't recall them anyway......OR case handler not concerned either.

  • hi i think you need to speak to the CAB, because you are married you are as responsible for the payments. I seem to recall a while ago a husband went backrupt and the creditors went after the partner for the monies owed
  • Yes i have just called cccs who told me about this case. I have just called my local courts for advise and they told me that if I signed a form when he bought the property waviering any rights then they couldn't go for the house, which i did. Still worrys me that as someone else said if we divorced surely i would be entitled to some of the property so would they see it this way??
    so confusing"""
