Where do i start? Im in a world of poo, plus im my own worst enemy and you'll all prob say its my own fault and it probably is. Ive been getting letters from a certain debt company asking for unpaid council tax at the start of these letters i phoned and said id pay something each month but as my outgoings is more that my income i just couldnt pay. and being my worst own enemy i just avoided the situation and buried my head. but now its got to the point their going to freeze my bank account (i already have a wages arrestment ongoing). action is going to happen tuesday so i was told on the phone, i did phone today but the lady was getting shirty saying i havent kept my word before and that shes not willing to help unless i pay £106 (this isnt the full amount of which i owe)(which i havent got). I just dont know what to do, if they freeze my account i wont be able to pay my rent. Ive phoned my local cit advice but no ones at the office  i really need help to get this sorted. what is my options? the way i see it just now im screwed.
I just wish i wouldnt bury my head hope it goes away, if id tackled it at first this wouldnt have happened, idiot.
sorry if ive rambled just so wound up

Hello

OK I think we could do with a little more information on this:
1/ Have the council been to court and obtained a liability order, you will know as they will have written to you a couple of time to let you know.
2/ Who is this company who is chasing you? Are they a debt collection agency or is it a bailiff company?
3/ Have you had any contact wiht bailiff's over this?
4/ What do you men when you say they are going to freeze your account, I presume you are talking about your bank account for the life of me I cannot understand this bit?
5/ Who is saying you need to pay £106 is it the council or this other company?
6/ Are you employed? Do you get benefits? Are you on a low income if employed? Have you enquired about council tax benefit?
Try not too worry too much, you have let it go too far but at least you knwo that and are trying to sort it all out now, reply with the above details and lets see what we can do

first thing, open a basic bank account - i have a nat west cash account (no overdraft or cheque book) and get your wages paid into there - but also make sure it's not a bank which is affiliated to your current bank (like Abbey & Alliance & Leicester are part of Santander).Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

Why are they freezing your account? Are they doing that because that then stops you taking any money out and then they wait until you get paid and take the money they are owed?
I think getting a new bank account asap and getting any money paid in there would be a good start.
Check out when your CAB is open - they may have opening hours tomorrow? find out how their system works - can you book or is it a case of you get down there for 8.30 and join the queue and it's a case of first come first served.
You could try phoning National Debtline - not sure what their hours are.
