Sorry Its Me Again - Have I started a nightmare for myself?!

This is my 3rd Post about this and thanks to all have replied.

I'm Going to be brief but I am now really worried.

Aktiv Kapital wrote back to me following a request for documentation saying they could not produce the documents and would therefore no longer request any payments from me.

I didn't suggest this and the suggestion wasnt in my original letter to them. It was their decision to do this, maybe because most of the debt has been repaid.

But I have had people on this forum saying they will now trash my credit file , which has taken me years to build up.

Can they do this bearing in mind it was them who suggested it?

Should I write to them again asking them to reassure me that this wont happen.

Very concerend now!!

If you do not pay money you owe they can place defaults and late payment markers.
The main damage is the default, and then generally the creditors places 6 years of late payment markers until the debt is paid. This is because legally you owe the money so they can send this information to the credit reference agency.

Have you gone down this CCA route before it was defaulted and whilst you were keeping up payments, its recommend to avoid the CCA route unless your file is already damaged.

As AK have said they will not take payments it would seem wrong for them to mark your file, however debt collectors can't be trusted and the debt can be sold on, so another creditor may start asking for payments.

    Thanks DarkConvict,

    What is the CCA route?

Also I have never defaulted on a payment to Aktiv Kapital in nearly 6 years. My next payment is not actually due until 20th July. Would the best route to take to be to write to them now, before my next payment is due and ask them to put it in writing to me that they will not place a marker on my file as the cessation of payments was their idea?
