Hiya,
Need to do a search on a company before doing any business with them.
Company House only giving basic info - have to pay for more.
Any ideas on free check??
Edit: Not just 'being nosey'. Need to know credit rating of a particular company.

I don't think that I can really help with some of the information you are looking for. But details of many companies can be found on:
http://www.applegate.co.uk/
and
http://www.kellysearch.com/
Not financial stuff though unless on companies own website.
Or these might be better :
for a fee

I know.... it's worrying that all you have to do is put in a surname and a town and you can get precise directions to that person's house! Try to remove yourself from it if possible....0 -
If you run a decent company you have nothing to worry about. The occasional disgruntled customer might keep you on your toes. If you are out for profit without taking into consideration customer satisfaction you derserve what you get.

If you want to go down that route https://www.whois.com is ( I thnk) a better alternative.0 -
Depends on how many companies you want.
https://www.graydon.co.uk provide very detailed information, but only allow one free search. (go to 'UK Credit reports' then click 'free uk company search' near the top of the content).
However, if you have one of those email addresses that allow *@domain.com then you can just clear your cookies after every search, and use a different email address.
Don't have one of those email addresses? Then buy a domain and set it to forward everything emailed to *@newdomain.co.uk to your usual email. You can now give graydon an infinate number of email addresses - just clear your cookies inbetween searches!DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society
