Waiting for Discharge

At midnight, hubby and I are due to be discharged from bankruptcy! I have waited all year for this day, it has been an important milestone for me as I've been really ill through all of this, on anti depressants, having to have counselling etc. I thought I was going to lose the family home I grew up in (fortunately I didn't) and at one point thought I would lose my job.

Bankruptcy has been almost the most incredibly tough journey of my life, comparable only to bereavement. I wouldn't advise anyone thinking of BR that it is an easy ride or an easy journey. it is shameful, embarassing and degrading, but it was our only way out and it was the right thing for us, although I couldn't always see that.

What the last year has taught me is who my friends are, who I can trust, and an awful lot about my marriage - some good and some bad.

Hopefully, it is one thing I can put behind me as of midnight.

To those of you embarking on the journey, it is tough, but it is sometimes the only way out. It was for us, and we've lived to tell the tale, although it hasn't been the best of years!

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all their help and support over the last year and a bit. Without you all, I would have cracked up!

have a nice cigar and a glass of wine ready and then set of the Fire Works.

Good Luck in the future and getting started again.

Keep around here, your experiences will help other through their tough times.

I'll raise a glass (milk) to you at midnight, if i make it. Eyes are getting heavy.
I'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.
