Are you sure it isn't a statement of how much is outstanding if you want to settle. (settlement figure)
    Best Regards

Barclays do not lend more than £25000 on an unsecured personal loan.

    Something smells fishy here.
  • definatley a demand for the o/s balance....not a statement, demanding repayment of loan forthwith !
    thanks
  • personal loan I consolidated debt £40k (all with barclays) over 3 years ago, NOT secured and not business loan

Obviously none of us here know the full story.

However, the obvious response would be to ask them why they are demanding the payment now.

If you think they are acting unreasonably, you can complain and if necessary take them to the Financial Ombudsman Service - but they have to be given the chance to sort it out themselves first.
  • I thought at first must be a automated letter, hopefuly a mistake as I'm a premier bank user with barclays plus business user and No One has called me ect. Wondered if anyone else had such demand letter, as i've been unable to contact my personal bank manager tonight.....

I think you are right to speak with your relationship manager, as they should be aware if there is an issue already.

  • Will do first thing, just looking to see if anyone else had a similar situation......
