Which? personnel or buy to let mortgage

I have had to move away from my home to find work. I could not afford to rent and pay for my home so I am forced to rent it out.

I want to change my mortgage lender to one that will offer me a fixed rate, but i am told I can only have a buy to let mortgage, this situation might be for only 6 months or may be years.

I am only offered a buy to let I can not live in or a personnel mortgage I cannot rent. has anyone got any ideas?

Will your current lender give you permission to let the house out, or if not then why not just sell and buy another place where your work is ?

Yes my present lender has given me permission to rent at the standard variable rate, but I want a fixed rate!

The house has been up for sale for 4 months no offers. I have excepted the advice of the estate agent on the price and there is nothing wrong with the place before you ask!

The job I have is as a contractor. I have no idea how long the contract will last and on the contract it states that I am entitled to 1hrs notice. I hope to get work near my home so I can move back in.
  • doubt you will get a fixed rate as a non occupier

Unfortunately a new mortgage lender will only offer a buy to let mortgage because the property is going to be let out.
