What to do next?

Sent off a letter to welcome finance at the beginning of June asking to voluntary terminate our agreement as per the t&c's given to us with the credit agreement now that we are well over halfway with the payments.

Have had no written response yet, but have had loads of phone calls each saying something different - but all saying we can't terminate the agreement.

They have said all of these so far:-

Can't be done as it is in negative equity as the car we bought was worth more than the one we traded in. :rotfl:

We could have got the T&C's from anywhere, but not from them. yup I hang around welcome finance offices to mug some poor sod for their T&C's

The T&C's we must have mixed up with the ones we got on the first car we bought through them (1st car purchased march 2005 - T&C's have dec 2006 date!)

Each time they have called I've asked for all of these reasons to be sent to us in writing, but I'm still waiting.

So ideas anyone - what do I do now?

If they fail to respond, take the matter to the FOS and lodge a complaint. The FOS should investigate your request for the voluntary termination based on the T&Cs you agreed to. They would then side with either you ro them to bring the matter to a close.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Their reasons for not accepting the car back are crazy - I love the negative equity one - even if we hadn't traded in it would still have been worth less than the total paid because of the horrendous prices they charge to start with!
