i was told thier valuation fees were (for the house we are after) £99 if it was on a main road & they could do a "drive by" valuation, otherwise it was £160 for a "full" valuation.
Or have i been given the wrong info?0 -

not really, don't remember them saying the charges varied due to house size etc, makes sense though
the above were on an assumption of a £400k property0 -
This is an external valuation, only available for remortgaging and under other conditions. If you are buying the house, this won't apply, and you will need to pay at least the standard valuation.i was told thier valuation fees were (for the house we are after) £99 if it was on a main road & they could do a "drive by" valuation, otherwise it was £160 for a "full" valuation.

The numbers you gave are indeed for a property up to £400K. There is a table provided with their forms, showing the various valuation fees for the various price ranges.0 -
Hi, Can you post the table for us please? I am thinking of going FD for mortgage (still haven't found the property yet). Do you guys know whether I need to apply for the FD current account first in order to get the mortgage? My credit file is clean so I dont want to waste a credit search (current acount) if it is not needed. The numbers you gave are indeed for a property up to £400K. Hi, Can you post the table for us please?
It's quite a large table, so I don't have time to rewrite everything. I don't think those are very different from usual survey fees found elsewhere.
However, here are some numbers:
£100K to £150K- External valuation (remortgage only): £99
- Standard: £160
- Home buyer: £415
- Structural: £565
£200K to £250K- External valuation (remortgage only): £99
- Standard: £200
- Home buyer: £555
- Structural: £730
- External valuation (remortgage only): £99
- Standard: £270
- Home buyer: £655
- Structural: £885

Ah right, so because we are moving home we have to pay for the bigger valuation?
Is it worth going for the homebuyers or structural over the standard?
Are these paid up front, or added onto mortgage?0 -
