Problem with Courier Company

Need some advice, Don't know which board to put this on...
Had to send some documents abroad recently, Multi-national Courier company picked up on a friday, promised to deliver on the following monday. When documents didn't arrive was told that they made a mistake and I shouldn't have been promised the delivery - in fact the documents arrived at destination 11 days after being picked up!
Documents were sent ahead of me, so that if required I could take other documents. As it turned out, I flew out - documents arrived 2 days after me!; and sure enough other documents were required! - My journey was partially wasted as I couldn't get the work done; I arrived last thursday; am getting the other paperwork and sending out; which I could have done and taken with me had Courier company delivered as promised thus saving me aggro and spoiling much of my trip; and saving me money wasted on phone calls from abroad chasinf the documents
During all this - had to chase the documents my self; arrange people to go from one part of the country to another; arrange people to hang around for days waiting for delivery. Had to get some one to pick up the documents from a branch office; 30-40 miles from the delivery address!
How should I proceed further?
