hi, does anyone know if i can fix this, or am i better off taking it to a tv repair guy?
i've got a home cinema system, but on the dvd player the drawer won't open so i can put a disc in....it just makes a funny whirring and clicking noise
is this easy enough to fix, as i dnt want to be ripped off and be told that its a major problem when it isnt!
thanks in advance

Shouldn't be too hard to fix, chances are a drive belt has slipped off or something. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

First you could try the "emergency eject". Disconnect the power lead and push a safety pin through the little hole in the tray. You will feel some resistance at some point, keep pushing a little bit more...0 -

his advice is normal practice BUT some do not have hole , I assume that it is not a pc you are asking about.
common sense, unplug ,take off cover ,look at unit and see if something loose ,if not , the dvd drives [ I think ] are same as pc units and can be bought for £15 or under.0 -

Nah, most are bare drives with proprietary interfaces, you couldn't just swap it out. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
