Go to trip advisor, enter the town and then look for restaurant reviews OR just google the town and check out sites for info,0

searched trip advisor and only 2 independant comments. Searched the net for over an hour and not a single comment about eating places in stranraer, they were all advertisments.

north west castle,we stayed here,isnt too great as a hotel,its very dated,but visit it for a meal,the food is excellent.
if the steak is as good as it was a few months back then i recommend this. we had the steak 2 nights in a row as it was so good. one of the best ive had in scotland. fiancee also agrees and we like ours cooked differently....work permit granted!0 -
as for other places to eat,well there doesn't seem to be that much im afraid. the castle is your best bet by far....work permit granted!0

If you've got your own transport I would head out to Portpatrick, about 8 miles outside of Stranraer. It is a lovely little fishing village and has a good restaurant called Campbells and also some nice pubs that serve good food.0
