Wedding Invitations dilemma - please help

Hi All,
We have sent all of our invites out except 3 (the ones to my 3 closest friends). We are getting married in a small church (60 people) and all the invites have gone out to our family. I am upset that I cannot invite my 3 friends to the day time but as they are each married with 2 or 3 children the church would be overflowing.
An option is to just invite the couple but they live 40 miles / 180 miles / 250 miles away so I feel mean asking them to leave the children (who are all young). OH says just to invite them + children in the evening but I'm upset at not having my friends there at the church.
Anyone got any advice for me?

Why not speak to your freinds individually and give them the option?
Explain it to them, tell them you would have invited the children but space physically doesnt allow this,
Or do you know that all your others guests are goign to accept the invite? Maybe some wont and that will leave space for the children?0 -
You could always speak to your friends, explain the position, and depending how willing your friends are, they might come to the church and then their partners and child join them in the evening - but it all depends on how flexible your friends are willing to be0

Are they staying overnight in a hotel? Perhaps they could club together and pay a childminder for the period they are in the Church?0
