I know this probably isnt in the appropriate place but...
I really really REALLY want to go shopping!!!
I dont have the money but still, my mind keeps bargaining with me going 'oh you can afford £6 on a nice new bag you saw earlier, it wont make a difference!'
Usually I give into the bargaining and convince myself I deserve a little treat but that was before I came across this site.
Granted, I have had a s*** week and feeling a little low but no excuse to go spend money I dont have!
Argh, I know the temptation will pass but right now I need common sence rather than my mind telling me to treat myself!!

Put the cost of any shopping you would do (and you know it would be more than just £6
) into the snowball calculator and see how much it would save you if it was paid off the credit card, that should give you some encouragement not to shop
Credit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 20360 -
I often find myself having the same problem (which is probably the main reason why I've managed to get into so much debt in the first place!). I have found that if I see something in a shop that I like I will say to myself "I'll look it up on the internet when I get back and buy it then". I usually find by the time I've got home I have either A) forgotten what it is that i just HAD to buy or
if I'm still really wanting it I'll look it up online and then decided that the P&P is too much and change my mind. It doesn't work all the time, but it certainly does help
