A Facebook page has been set up by a friend of mine, so feel free to swell the numbers as there's only 4 of us on there so far!

The 10 min thing seems to work ok at the City Airport.0

is there a chance that if people all start using the long stay free ten minutes, that by the time you have parked up, got your bags out of the car, the driver starts up again and gets out of the space, goes to get out that it could take close to ten minutes? and if many people start doing this the queues to get out of the carpark could be big, resulting in people getting to the barriers having not paid and finding out they cant get out as they have been there over 10 minutes?
i know that was maybe hard to understand the way i tried to get it across, but its just an enquiry..
Yes, if lots of people started making use of the free 10 minutes, then there could conceivably be a bottleneck and the whole process including queuing to get out exceeds the specified time. How much is the charge then I wonder? I expect that this potential loophole will be examined and changes made so that it cannot be exploited.0 -
How exactly do you get to the long stay without going past the terminal (thus paying the £1 I assume)? Have they changed the layout?Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0

Parked with Killead Lodge & they had an extra £2 charge per group to cover the cost of the fee...
On the trip to the airport there was 7 groups in the bus & were also picking returning passengers, when picking us up on the way back they dropped off 2 groups & picked up 3 groups & all at £2 per group!....
With the coach park charging £2.50 entry, this is a nice wee money earner now for the carpark owners...........What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
 now thats what I call cashing in!
Definitely will remember to ask at easipark the next time I am using them - I wonder if they are charging extra too?0 -
Same in Birmingham.0

I think that the airport have us by the short and curlies. If you want to fly out of Aldergrove then I think we are going to have to pay up..I think it's wrong, very wrong and such a bad example to visitors to our shores. For many years we didn't have any tourists because of the situation here, we will probably scare them away again, because of greedy airport officials.....0

I HATE HATE HATE this airport! Travelled to England last week and guess what, they've introduced yet another way to make us queue. A pre-security queue complete with criss-cross queueing system. When I arrived there were 3 staff and despite a lengthy queue it was moving well. However, they then decided to congregate for a query by one traveller which resulted in quite a logjam with the minutes ticking by for those of us who cut it fine
When I finally got to the the top of the queue, the guy looked at the screen and told me that I was late! I politely explained that the extra queue might have something to do with it and proceeded to join the (next) queue at security. They appear to be doing everything in their power to make travelling through the airport as expensive and inconvenient as they possibly can. Why? How is it good business to alienate people at every turn?

Hi all
Everyone appears to feel very strongly on the subject. I have written an article on the arguments for and against the new charges and the potential repercussions. I would really appreciate your feedback and comments. Please find a link to my article below:
