Hi I have a small problem in that I am trying to find a cover that will fit my ironing board .it is 46cmx 142 cm.Most of the covers I have seen are no where as big as this .At the moment I have gone back to sticking a blanket and an old sheet over the board as a temporary cover. I know my ironing board is an extra large one but apart from the cover it is in good condition. My daughter says' why don't you get a new one' ,but I have had this one for 36 years I got it with my Green shield stamps when my kids were small. There is nothing wrong with the board itself, ,just the cover has seen better days.
Anyone else out there have a huge ironing board like mine.
I am useless with a needle so I would not be able to make one .

I have a large ironing borad and got a cover in tj hughes. I had a look on ebay and they were all too small. If you have a tj hughes near then have a look there. Hope you find one!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

My mum bought hers in costco and can only get replacements at costco as its very big. I may try out Tjs for her the next time she needs one.0

Try Brabantia:

largest may be big enough. John Lewis stock them.
Alternatively, have you tried the supplier from whom you bought the original board?

I had one like that too Jackie and had to get covers from John Lewis. Had it for 30 odd years too and suddenly one day it just fell apart0

Brabantia's ones just aren't big enough, it is such a shame as it is great for ironing sheets .0 -
I've got the same problem - I've tried all over without success, even John Lewis. Mine is a Beldray board and the only place I've found is
https://www.laundrycompany.co.uk/ironingboardaccessories.htm they do a cover to fit 145 x 46cm.

I can sew, but have to admit that my ironing board cover is held in place with safety pins. As a temporary arrangement (about 2 years ago) I pinned tape to the underneath edges, then tied the tapes together and sort of folded in the sticky-out bits and pinned them.
I left the original cover on, so a couple of the pins are attached to that. If you have access to a big enough remnant of fabric, it's a cheap 'temporary' fix until you find a proper one at a good price.0 -
Hi, my first post here. My Mum has a large ironing board like yours and bought the cover for hers in Homebase. Instore (poundstretcher) do them too. Hope this helps.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

If this is the elasticated cover from Homebase it won't fit. Took it home in hope and tried it and it's too short. The John Lewis I tried was Milton Keynes so not a small branch and I also tried Argos and Ikea without success.0 -
Hi Snoozer, no it wasn't the elasticated one. This one had draw strings to tighten it. Took us an age to get it on the board but it fits. It was a large Homebase where she got it.
