Hi everyone and thanks for any help.
few weeks ago i received a letter from meritforce stating the usual, someone coming round in 10 days blah blah so i ignored it. the debt i have was from years ago and i know they specialise in unenforceable debt. i got a free experian report and had the guy update it and nothing on my report at all even after he went through my old addresses. therefor i believe my debt has dropped off as older than six years with no written acknowledgment or payment of that debt. so i ignored said letter (and secretly hoped they would send someone round).
got a new one today saying FINAL OFFER IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED and that i had further 7 days to pay their 'gesture of goodwill' reduced offer if not then they fully expect me to 'honour the outstanding balance by means of a monthly payment.'
my questions are said i send off the debtline statute barred letter to these muppets or just ignore them again. as it is statute barred can they put a default on my credit report or threaten legal action. on the new letter there is no mention of further action so i take it they cant. i moved around alot so i am unsure of whether i had a ccj aainst me for my old debts, if id did does that mean that they can try for it even if the ccj for it is over 6 years old? like i said there is nothing on my credit report as my younger idiotic days are long gone and now my credit report is sweet. thanks ever so much
