I purchased a telly over the phone from Argos in November. It was a bush 42 in lcd telly.
Tonight the thing has literally gone bang.
Trouble being i didnt get a receipt with it and havent got my order number. I ordered it with a credit card and still have the statement.
What id like to know is will argos accept the credit card recipt for £850 and repair it or am i up the creek
Thanks Lisa

A shop can't insist you have a receipt, I am told. Your credit card statement should be enough to show that you purchased it within a reasonable timeframe for them to repair.0

You should be fine if you ordered it over the phone they should still have all your details on there system.0

Legally you'll be fine. You only have to prove that you purchased it from them and the statement is perfectly acceptable. Trading standards say that if you payed cash its even ok to say a mate saw you buy it...0 -
I have just found a piece of paper on one of the boxes that i saved (unlike me ) and it has an order number on it and a delivery date on it as well as a manifest number as well.
Hopefully it shouldnt be a problem. :j0 -
yeah give them a ring, and with your details they can find your order:) so you should be fine0

With the sophisticated till systems these days shops can track any transaction (if they want to be helpful of course )
I recently took something back to PC world without a receipt and only a rough idea of the purchase date but they searched and found the transaction that matched my Visa card and gave me a full refund.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0
