CSA - Data Protection File Request

Hello all...

I've had a quick browse but can't find anything specific to answer my query.

Could someone briefly explain what the Data Protection File holds? I have seen the ways to obtain it but am a little confused as to what it is for.

I am the NRP and have never, ever, been contacted by the CSA in 8+ years, but do have a private agreement with my ex (PWC) for maintenance payments.

Thanks...

It is a copy of the information they hold on you. case notes, letters you have sent in, payslips that have been sent in etc; etc; some of it is redacted. It also covers any telephone call recordings.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

Mine also included details of telephone conversations with the NRP and I am the PWC!

You never know what might be in your records, but whether it should be there may be a different matter.

If you are going to following through with a DPA request be advised the CSA are now apparently charging a £10 fee. (They never used to)
