Alex, you look lovely in the outfit you wore for the wedding at work.
Goan, I'm loving what you've shown so far for Alex's challenge. It's amazing that you've got something for any occasion.
PF, the car is gorgeous.0 -
Thanks daydream
Ice, I find that they're mostly old lady clothes! I seem to do better with accessories - I can usually find decent shoes and scarves and occasionally jewellery. Clothing is more a case of endlessly searching and finding something nice every now and then. I'm finding car boots a better hunting ground at the moment as they're cheaper and tend to have nicer stuff.0 -
Alex, are car boot sales really that good a hunting ground? I have never gone to one, put off by the thought of lots of tat!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Well I'm not the most experienced car booter on this thread but I've never come home without at least a few nice things. Depends on how the sellers have laid things out - most at my local boot sale use clothes rails and they're easy enough to rifle through.0

I need to factor in some car booting time! Have just about managed to fit in time to see toy story tomoro

Ice- The secret is to get in and have a good rummage in the car boots, I was at one the other week, the buyer had a pile of clothes on the floor all for £1 each, but stuck in the bag next to the pile was a gorgeous green velvet jacket from Mango, and again with the Charity shops you just need to have time to have a good luck through, after a while its comes naturally- you can spot a decent item of clothing by the pattern or type of material a mile off, unlike Alex though I never find shoes in the CS but clotheswise I do quite well.
Pirate - enjoy Toy Story- don't forget your tissues!!!! just in case. Even my 8 year old neice cried in 3 places she informed us.
No gym today as I think it'll be a bit busy and theres a festival on in town so prob won't get parked, instead I have found a table top sale at the local Salvation Army so will try and pop along later.0 -
Morning ladies, i wonder what the weather will deal us today. Hope the rain stays away or the car booty will be cancelled
Ice, there is a lot of tat at car boots but there's also a lot of treasures too, the secret is a lola said to have a good old rummage. I'm like a pig in the proverbial (sp!) rummaging through clothes. It reminds me of being a child with my mum at jumble sales and she would be rooting through and passing me the pile of clothes, we would go home and pull out thr twin tub washing machine (who remembers those??) and wash all of our 'purchases' once it was all dried and ironed we would have a fashion show. I think my love of clothes began at the tender age of 6. I think i've gone full circle, in my early 20's whilst my older two boys where young, it was new AND designer only. Even the boys had osh kosh this, oillily that. I'm very happy to say that i'm back to where i began, but unlike when i was a child it's out of want not need.
OOOO, i have rambled!!
Keeping it relevant, wearing Jeggings (primark) long blue flowery vest from yesterdays tesco order, gladiators from carboot sale. Dh has said i can 'have' his wardrobe if i clear him a drawer so going to re-organise all my clothes today, now that i have two wardrobesI knew i married him for a reason.
Alex- did you get shoe storage from ikea?? I really need to sort out mine but don't know what to do
Sharron xSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
