How are you doing yours?
I have a friend coming round later who has offered to make our cake at "cost price" however I don't want to be stuck with just one option, so just having a general look around today... so here I am to ask you lovely ladies (& gents!) :T

M&S do some. Pick and choose how many/tiers, etc. There is a catch though: collect ... and only in participating stores. So if you live near me that's probably a 100-200 mile trip for a participating store
From £12/cake/tier: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Marks-and-Spencer-Traditional-Wedding/dp/B0015ZHXX6
To find the participating stores you have to get one in your basket then select where to collect from and see if your store's there.0 -
Or try Waitrose, Tesco, Asda.....0

I have seen some in M&S and tesco even seen people advertising on ebay.
Im not getting married until 2012 although I have had a quick look at prices and so far I have been quoted anywhere from £500 -£1500!!!0 -
You can also buy plain ones and decorate yourself. There's some lovely rosebuds in Hobbycraft

We have ordered ours from M&S a 3 tier cake Fruit bottom with the other 2 tiers sponge it says it will feed just over 100 it cost just £80 as they are doing a 3 for 2 offer at the moment. I know people who have had them and they say they are very nice and delicious.0 -
now i know there are people who dont like fruit cake, people who dont like sponge cake but not many people dont like chocolate cake so how about...........
get three different size chocolate cakes that you like (try them) and that have quite moist creamy icing and stack them on top of each other (not seperated) then get bags and bags of malteasers and absolutely cover the whole cake with them, they can be done as neatly or messy as u like and you can also add a few malteasers here and there that have been covered in edible gold or even decorate with a few flowers?
You dont have to have something traditional, someone in the paper the other day had a 3 tier pork pie wedding cake lol0 -
I am currently making/freezing chocolate truffles to make a truffle tower for my daughters wedding. The guests will be invited to come and eat one of the various flavors of truffles bit like this idea..
