So - update for you all - almost 48 hours passed now since initial e-mail of complaint went in to Kingston Communication - NO RESPONSE!

    What now?!?!?

write a short simple recorded delivery letter to KC , stating that you are launchign a formal complaint, in writing that you are being refused service in all possible scenarios and if they do not respond within X working days you will be taking them to ofcom.

Wait for them to confirm receipt of the official complaint, then you can go back to ofcom I think

Saving for a year in Japan.
I need around £10,000. Help me get there!

Thanks everyone for your advice, KC have contacted me today and just like that, they have changed their mind!

Their customer care team contacted me and advised they can provide me with a landline telephone number and broadband if I pay them £200 deposit - all sorted as easy as that - bit annoying that it could have been resolved at the start of the week had the jobs worth on Monday got her facts right, but hey ho - broadband en route - one happy person again

Still slightly narked I don't have a choice of service provider, but hey ho!

I also live in Hull and work for myself. I'm about to face bankruptcy and pretty scared. KC really are a dreadful company to deal with, I have a business line with them that I would like to keep so your thread has been really useful.

Thanks Alfie - am glad I could help someone with it - don't be scared - most people are OK with it and I have found the whole process to be pretty much painless - not enjoyable, but I have met a lot of very helpful and understanding people through the process - keep your eye on these forums - they were lifelines through the tough times and full of useful information.
KC ARE a really bad company, but like most companies seem to have the odd person who can be helpful :-) Just need to speak to the right person. I have spoken to a couple of people in Hull in similar situations and all of them have since said that they too had trouble, but eventually got sorted by paying a deposit.

    Good luck

KC really are an appalling company to deal wit......within the Hull/Beverley area, that is.

Once outside that area, into places where they face competition from the likes of BT, pigeons, etc.......they are a totally different story!!!

It really is about time their monopoly of the Hull area was terminated...especially as their existence has no direct effect upon the local council any more...apart from losses of share value.

Of course, a company like KC having such a monopoly is one very valid reason for moving outside of Hull ASAP....
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
