Quick question about bailiff fees

Options
Hi all

After doing some more reading around this issue I just thought I would show you all what the breakdown of the fees are and get some thoughts.

Penalty Charge Notice - £80
Initial letter - £11.20
Visit fee - £28.00
Attendance fee - £150
VAT £33.15

A total of £302.31

Is it true that they cannot charge an attendance fee at the same time as doing a levy.

Secondly, they have levied on my car but I normally park it in my garage and the morning he levied on it I had left it on the street cos it was late I and was too tired to put it in the garage. Does this mean I have to park my car on the street from now on as once they have levied it I am required to give over my car?

Sorry, it all gets a bit confusing.

Thanks you have all been really helpful so far

I would definately be putting my car in a locked garage out of the way either way, if they do want to recover it I dont think there is any law that says you have to make it easy for them..........

I think the fee's may be OK, there are only certain fee's they can charge for council tax but dont think this is the case for parking fines....

Keep an eye on thsi thread there are some fantastic people on this forum with far more knowledge than me I am sure they will post soon :)

Is your is car used for work purposing, inc getting to your place of work, if so the levy is invalid. And you can get it and the charge removed.
I do believe if levied you cannot lock it away. Although they can force entry to recover it so i would personally not lock it away.

The attendance fee, i think is only charged when they actually remove goods.
Knowledge on bailiff fees is a bit scare, so we recommended you go here and give herbie21 a call. its her website - http://www.bailiffadviceonline.co.uk/
