Hello everyone.
I'm not sure if I posting this is the correct place but here we go anyway!
I am looking for a place to get artificial flowers for my bouquet and my bridesmaids flowers (and also buttonholes if cheap enough!).
Can anyone suggest a good place to go/website to look at that sells artificial flowers at a good price but a good quality flower!
I have seen some around at about 40p for 1 gerbera flower which is fantastic, BUT, the flower looked like if you sneezed on it it would fall apart!
Also, anyone who has any other suggestions with regards to making wedding stationery, wedding cakes, wedding dresses etc etc etc (basically we're making our whole wedding!) would be greatly appericiated!:T
Thank You!

I had mine made by a lady on Ebay, cream roses and green ivy, with little sprigs of gold and crystal beads tied with cream shimmery muslin bow. Goregous, and had a smaller one made for my daughter. Mine was a winter wedding and the bouquets were perfect. She also made my now ex his button hole to match.0 -
I had mine made on ebay, about £20 for buttonholes for Husband, Best Man, Brother and Dad and bouquet for me.
We made invitations on Vistaprint for about £30 including tons of stuff (create a throwaway email address, sign up and wait a few days till their free stuff offers start pouring in - don't use your regular email because I get four or five emails a WEEK).
My aunt made our wedding cake and it was gorgeous. Cupcakes might be easier if you want to do them yourself, you can make batches of different ones to suit everyone and do lots of practice to make sure you get ones you like
My dress came from ebay too - £90 including shipping, and it was stunning, elegant and simple but perfectly made and wonderful.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I think they also sell on ebay. Cheap but good quality. I would definently buy from them again.0 -

If you want roses - type in 'foam roses' in ebay and you will get lots of them
They look great, I got loads of comments about mine at my wedding, this is one of the corsages I made with a foam rose:
My bouquet was foam roses as well, it only cost £30 and everyone thought it was real at first(can even spray perfume on them). Best thing about it is I could keep it afterwards lolCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Marks and Spencer do a ready made iced wedding cake that you buy in tiers which is cheaper than buying one from a cake shop. Do you have a friend that is good at icing a cake who would maybe do it as a wedding present for you? You could get some extra artificial flowers and use those to decorate the cake as well.
Cupcakes are the trend at the moment but it depends on how many people you are inviting - 100 cupcakes is much harder work to make and decorate than a 2/3 tier fruit wedding cake. Remember as well if you do go for a fruit cake then you need to make it 3 months in advance then you can ice it and decorate a week in advance meaning there is no rush nearer the day.
A lady I know recently went to a self organised wedding and they had a traditional english afternoon tea. Small sandwiches, cake and pastries with tea and champagne. They trawled the car boot sales for mismatched china places, tea cups and saucers and ended up spending very little. They even used tea cups as the holder for flowers on the tables.
Wedding stationery - Hobbycraft is a good place to start, they do loads of stuff like this.0 -
I "made" a friend's wedding cake by purchasing three different-sized plain white occasion cakes from Tesco. Got pillars & silver decorations from a local shop (this was in the days before eBay), glucose syrup to stick the decorations on.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
