Job centres Pay Employers

I wanted to know if this is true or not?

Do the job centre pay an employer a certain amount of money when they employ a person who applied for a job at the job centre if this person has been unemployed for a certain amount of time?

I tried looking on their site but cant find this anywhere.

  • The £1,000 Recruitment Subsidy paid to employers for recruiting an eligible person who has been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance for more than six months is being withdrawn at the end of June.
The subsidy was introduced in April last year as part of the Labour government’s recession response measures. Jobcentre Plus points out that it was a temporary measure and was due to end in March 2011 anyway.
The decision to end it earlier is part of the new government’s package to cut public spending by £6.2 billion this year.
Employers can claim the subsidy for eligible people starting work by 30 June and must submit their claim to Jobcentre Plus by 20 July.

I take it this is stopping soon though from what I have already read?
