Maybe not what you want to hear, but it is worth keeping a "cold damp house" can you cover your mortgage/secure loan if you sell it?

Or maybe moving back into your parents for a while and rent it out?

I know you would have rent to pay, but your heating should be less/

I'm not sure why you feel that a dmp won't help you? None of your expenses are unreasonable - apart from the gas/electric is huge and food is too low.
Exlcuding the bank charges and your parents this would then leave you with 80 ish pounds to split between your creditors (indcluding your parents and the overdraft and your other debts).
Paying your parents is all well and good but it is at the expense of your other creditors - who are more likely to kick up a fuss and charge loads of interest and take you to court than your parents are. I think it would be fairer if you split the 'spare money' betwen everyone.
There are no magic answers - if you won't do a dmp, then basically you will need to consider a dro or bankruptcy I guess if you can't increase your income as there really doesn't seem to be any way to cut back on your expenses.

ps... gas and electric i rounded this up as i pay quarterly not d/d so i averaged the 2 big winters against the 2 smaller summer ones, food bill is low but ive had to learn how to savvy shop, good thing is it keeps me slim so thats a bonus for a single thirty something!!
I suppose i am frightened of the implications that having a dmp will have on my future credit file to be honest and of admitting (to a real person) that ive failed. The worst thing is ive not got myself into debt leading a champagne lifestyle or even by having to pay for weddings/babies and huge mortgages, its just the cost of living has increased so much and salaries havent. I suppose it wont hurt to get the advice from one of the charity organisations. Thanks for everyones help, it helps to talk about it

    just re-nosing ..lol

your water rates @ 30 a month is this over 10 or 12 months?
if you are living on your own have you thought about a water meter? in theory it should bring that bill down a fair bit. its worth asking your water company if they will install one free .. and remove it free before 12 months if it hasnt lowered your bill.
again something im looking into as suggested by someone on this board :)

I am in negative equity, if i sold id not have enough to pay back all my debts, theres a few been up for rent round here ages, the rent i would need to cover my costs far exceeds what i could ask for, so no options there. I made bad choices buying this place at an overinflated price but at the time (2007) i had to take what i could find as things got silly with the house prices.

Just to clarify, the Water Boad do not take out a meter if you haven't lowered your bill, they will put you back on water rates, but when you sell your house the next person has to go onto a meter.
