in Cutting tax
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me when i should get my p60 as i have nto yet had one for the last tax year.
I started a new job in March so i would have thought my new work would have issued one but they have not sent them out yet. Is there a time limit they have to get these sent out.
Also my partner has not had her P60 and she was signing on at the job centre until march when i started work.

Did (new job?) you have a pay date on or before 5th April? If so they should have provided a P60 by end May. If no pay date - then the P45 from your previous employer is all you get.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Hi.
I started my new job on March 22nd 2010 and i got my first pay on 23rd April 2010 which covered back to my start date
I was on jobseekers up until i started my new job.
So will i not got a p60 from my new work and should i get one from job seekers

Only thing that matters (to the taxman) is the date you were paid.
As you were paid after 5th April you did not pay tax in your new job in the last tax year (April 6th 2009 - April 5th 2010) so no P60 required.
Don't know about job seekers.0 -
So should i expect a P60 from Job Centre then and not my new work place

Bit of an odd one as you were essentially in 'no man's land' at 5th April. New employer but no pay made - so no reason to issue a P60?
As you were no longer on jsa at 5th april (the critical date for a P60) .... no, you won't get one from them ......... but should have a p45?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I guest thats the same for my partner also when her JSA stopped when i started work.
I will dig out all our P45's and PaySlips and i think thats the best i can do
