Minimoon / Honeymoon - Cottage

Hi All
We are getting married in October 2011 and have decided to go away for a minimoon before going to Mexico in 2012.
Looking at going to the Lake District for 3 or 4 nights. Would like a nice cottage with an open fire and ideally a jacuzzi etc
Open to suggestions of other areas and don't want to spend a fortune but at the same time still want it to be special
Any recommendations/advice?
Thanks!

Yeah, I saw that post however they are looking at a higher budget and want it catered.
We are happy with self catering and are after something around £300 maximum really.0 -
An option near Snowdonia:

We stayed in the Granary (the 2bed cottage) back in May - a lovely cottage, stunning views, very romantic. Wood burning stove (too warm for us, but in october...). No jacuzzi, but there is a sauna in the games room.
Judging by the visitors book, no one has been disappointed, and the cottages have been used for engagements and honeymoons.
We would have considered going back for our honeymoon, but is a bit too far away from cooked food!0 -
My daughter just booked her honneymoon with Sykes cottages, very reasonable for a week.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

http://www.monkhousehill.co.uk/clever%20combinations.htm - this was posted on the other thread mentioned above, it's £175 each for 3 nights but you get champagne, chocs and flowers on arrival, jucuzzi bath, access to the sauna/health centre with a free voucher, I think we're going to go with this one
Sorry, I'm going out of season - it might be more in october.0 -
This place is a bit pricey but i've heard good reviews about it and it may be cheaper depending on when you want to go. It near York however not in Lakes.

Hi All
Many thanks for all your suggestions... has given us some ideas0 -
Snap! Had to look at this as we are the same - having a week in the Lake District with doggie in September this year for our minimoon, then Mexico in April 2011 for our megamoon! Spooky, but we're researching now so will try to share anything I find!0
