Tax Rebate vs Student Loan Deductions

Hi there,
Hoping people might be able to provide some advice regarding what I can expect when applying for a tax rebate.
I've been with my current employer for over 2 years. I realised last month that I was on an emergency tax code (BR).
I also noticed that for the first time this month I was deducted student loan.
I intend to apply for a tax rebate. When inputting the tax paid over the previous two years into an online calculator, I would appear to be in line for a decent sum. However I am conscious that I have not repaid any student loan in that period either.
Should I expect to have the payments I should have made towards my student loan deducted from the amount due for refund?
Many thanks for any advice provided.

Student loan deductions are based on your gross pay, they have no relationship with tax. HMRC does not administer Student loan deductions, they are only interested in your tax liability and you will get your refund in full.0

Only deducted when annual pay exceeds £15kpa (or more than £1250 per month) and ......... as previous post ......... has no direct link with tax / NI deductions. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Either way being on BR means you have probably paid £1,000 - £1,200 of extra tax each year you can now reclaim so it's definately worthwhile to reclaim this ASAP.0

Cheers guys.
The figures you've mentioned is what I think I'm owed so happy days!
Just need to dig the old P60s out. I understand thats all I need, and that I should send that with a covering letter.0 -

Yes - but you do need to qualify this is your sole job (and has been?)if you're still on BR? Aim it at your current PAYE office. But do expect to wait up to 10 weeks as HMRC have serious arrears ....... so a 'phone call to attempt to resolve the Code for this year might be a good starter? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

It's the only job I've had since in two financial years. I'll be sure to make that clear.
Thanks for the tip regarding getting my tax code sorted for this year.0
