War Pensions or Veterans Agency advice

Does anyone have any knowledge where I can get some help/advice/assistance with some VA questions please? Not the official Veterans Agency website cos all they suggest is to speak to one of their advisors and they just give the e corporate answer. I need someone's experience with issues/matters that I have encounterd with regard to my pension payments for an injury/condition which has been Attributed to Service in HM Forces. Thanks....:j - "if only"

;) It's very difficult to offer advice based on experiences gained by an individual however, I am of similar age and have made a claim in the past relating to my health. I did a lot of groundwork myself and had lots of medicals etc. To cut a long story short I was offered what I deemed a pittance in compensation (IT BEING THEIR FINAL OFFER OF SETTLEMENT) and said no to it. As a result of standing up to them my claim was increased fourfold. The only other agency I got any help/advice from was the RBL (Royal British Legion) who I have turned to since my discharge some ten years ago for all sorts of help for me and others around me. Hope this helps you a bit.
have you also looked on https://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk (just a thought) ;)

Have you tried the Solders Sailors air force association

If not try your local Citizens advice.

Also try the British Legion, they may offer assistance in your circumstances.
  • Check out the pprune website there is lots of information on the military thread. I used it within the last 12 months and the advice from that site was worth its weight in gold. In short, make sure you list EVERYTHING that's wrong with you.

I also used RAFA and found them to be very supportive. Good luck!
