Substitute for egg?

I have some chicken that I want to coat in spicy breadcrumbs but I don't have any eggs to dip them in (chickens are on strike today! ) is there anything else than I can use as substitute to make them breadcrumbs stick?

if you got any apricot jam, warm it in a pan, and it'll give it a lovely flavour.

Thanks for the super quick reply! I just went out and looked in the nest boxes again (hopefully) and found 2 eggs! :j They've never lain this late in the day before.

maybe they are psychic and knew you needed them, lol. i was bemoaning the lack of red tomatoes one morning earlier this week, went out at tea time and loads had turned red. now i think they know i was moaning about them, lol

If you're short of eggs again, I find thick yogurt a good glue for breadcrumbs, or buttermilk. These are what I use for dd who is allergic to eggs, but you can also use bottled mayo.I should think ketchup would work too.
