Hello
I am embarking on making my daughter's wedding cake for next May (plenty of time to practice!). She wants 3 sponge tiers and I have managed to find a chocolate cake recipe for the bottom and a carrot cake recipe for the top.
She has asked for a toffee flavoured sponge for the middle tier and I am having trouble finding a recipe. Do any of you have one I can use .... please!!

I use this one:

I usually poke holes in it and pour some of the sauce over the cakes to make it lovely and moist. I sometimes crush crunchies into it as well.0 -
Has anyone got a recent link (the one above seems to have gone) to a nice and simple, rich toffee sponge cake with a sticky toffee-fudge topping. I don't want one with dates in - just a nice moist plain sponge jusshed up with a nice sticky topping.
I am fed up of paying £2.50 a slice in coffee shops and the only person who I know who makes it herself won't part with the recipe for love nor money! Surely one of us MSE'ers will know???
Cheers in advance (I hope!):beer::beer::hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
I just use my usual cake recipe, but use dark soft brown sugar and add twice as much vanilla (so 2tsp instead of 1). You could add some golden syrup too for a more pronounced toffee flavour.Love and compassion to all x0

Or this could be good, especially as it's from Good Housekeeping:

I haven't tried it yet though so don't sue me
Would be better if it gave imperial measurements as an alternative!Life is mainly froth and bubble
