We went to Aldi at the weekend. Picked up some loo rolls £1.99 for 9.
They appeared small in size but I thought I would try them. They were surprisingly compacted so despite the appearance there was quite a lot of paper on them, and it was reasonably soft but not puffy soft like the more expensive brands. At 22p a roll, I thought they were good value.

Superdrug have Regina 'impressions' 18 rolls for £4.99 at the moment, really soft and a real bargain if your OH insists on soft toilet paper
