I completed a History of Art degree last year and was in the same position as yourself. Temporary jobs were the only ones I could get.

Maybe its because you're not applying for jobs in the field and its considered a "mickey mouse degree" outside of the Arts.

Congrats on the job. I myself was in your position - but with a Media degree (people think that's a Mickey Mouse subject, but they can't be more wrong!!)

I graduated july 08, done temp work, got a job at a cinema in feb 09 for 1 year, then started working in TV :D And now I've just got my 4th TV job until September.

The key is to keep trying and improving on how you're looking for jobs.

Got my results and am applying for 30 - 50 jobs a week. I get no responses what so ever. I am applying for everything from retail assistant jobs to teaching assistant posts. I have a wealth of previous customer support experience and have previously volunteered for childline so it is not as if I have no employment experience. I am getting very disheartened and depressed. I want to do an MA in Social work but I need a job first to pay off some of my debts from my undergraduate degree!
