Morning all, Hope you can advise, my daughter has a catalogue with one of the large well known companies, she paid but was late paying by three days and owed £9 exactly, she has never ever paid late before. This catalogue company (that goes under several names) have actually listed her on equifax as a bad payer and apparently this will stay on her record for six years. After speaking to the catalogue company they have told her they cannot remove it. This is so unfair as her credit rating has been excellent prior to this. Please could anyone advise as this is now causing her undue stress.
many thanks
Sammy

What is on her equifax file? Is it 1 late payment marker? Or a proper default notice?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

If it is a late payment marker, then a single one will have little to no effect. Late payments last 36 months however about 12 months it will have no real affect unless there were many late payments, i.e. credit rating had markers between 5-8, where 8 is a default.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Many thanks for your advice, it is a marker, unfair marker especially since she has never paid late. But your advice has been good and thank you for giving up your time, it is appreciated. Sammy0
