When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Ok so am up with the larks again! (bless oh he bolted awake at 5.45 to wake me up because he thought we had overslept. Que him turning over and returning to sleep and me layin awake!) So I thought I'd start us off...ok dfw plans for today are:
:D Have a great day everyone x

- [STRIKE]make oatmeal biscuits in a minutes[/STRIKE] (might as well be productive with the gift of time oh gave me
)
- [STRIKE]make pack lunches for ds, oh & student[/STRIKE] (leftover tomato tart for me mmmmmm)
- [STRIKE]get pies out of freezer for tea[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]working at home town again so saving petrol[/STRIKE]
- go and get some petrol (ironically)
- check tyre pressure
- water plants
- more repotting - urgent toms now done :j
- other than petrol no spending
- surveys
- [STRIKE]check online banking[/STRIKE] I don't know why I bothered - no change - shocker! :rotfl:
- [STRIKE]update June GC with final figures [/STRIKE](have overspent slightly but didn't account for having an extra person for a month (who is lactose intolerant) ok overspent by £20  however as said I didn't account for extra person when I made my prediction and to be fair I have grabbed meat for the freezer when its been reduced - £250 isn't as bad aas it could be
- start looking in earnest for another job as found out yesterday it is highly likely my company is going to be reducing Team Leaders so I may be out of a job October onwards !
- [STRIKE]charge phone at work[/STRIKE] (might as well enjoy the "perks" while they last)
- [STRIKE]pick up 2p I saw in the garden and put in the penny pot![/STRIKE]

Morning people!!
Can we have the little smiley icon on the thread please DNMS?! Just so it's easier for me to find the thread during the day:rotfl:
Will post my list in a mo...must get girls out of bed;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning all, thanks for starting the thread DNMS xxxx My DH was up at 5.15 this morning & out at 6, but he is quiet as a mouse so hardly wakes me up!!!
Very grey here this morning but sticky-muggy hotyuk
Today:
- check online banking (DH been paid, moved it all around)
- packed lunches
- tea from meal plan
- go to work
- shopping at Mr T sticking to list & using £6 off £40 till spit
- do all comps ending 30/06
Have a lovely day everyone xxx0 -
oops, never noticed the smiling icon before
Morning All  I'm up early because of oh too, but only because I want the car today so took him to work at 7am  (we're an hour ahead of you) The shops aren't open yet so I've come back for coffee.
I managed a NSD yesterday :j And we coped without lighting the fire because we had no wood
So today I have/will- catch up on my correspondence - I don't know why I haven't got down to writing my thank-you letters!
- do the surveys sitting in my inbox
- buy some wood to heat this cold house
- use the new cross trainer - saves on gym membership & I feel so much better doing a bit of exersize
- only buy milk, kitchen roll and wood when out. Not be tempted by anything else........
- knit this evening by the fireside
Have a great day :A0 -
Ok, time for my list.
I'm tired this morning - the rain woke me up in the night:eek: All dry again now and very warm. Hope it stays dry, it's dd2's Sport's day thins afternoon and I'll get to watch for the first time in years!
Ok...list:- check banking...done
- daily scratch...10p
- write a small list of food we need until I do a big online shop to come on Sun/Mon
- packed lunches for both dd's made
- ironing...boooooo
- wait for email reply from uni about next yr
- hope new Asda cc arrives (free delivery on my shopping!)
- meal from plan tonight - minced beef wellington leftovers and mash...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm:D
- Ooooooh just realised it'd Tuesday - enjoy Holby tonight:T
- Uni work....maybe;)
I need to decide whether I restart the year or I could stop for now, catch up and in 2011/2012 I rejoin....I dont want that route though. Ideally, I'd do Y1 again, with tuition fee loan, handing in assignments I've not done - my tutor suggested it, will see if uni say it's possible.
If no fee support...then I have a mountain of work to do:eek: I'm meant to be taking it easy and recovering and all uni is doing is stressing me out....I don't need it and need this sorted!
Sorry for the ramble..........:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning everyone,
**Hands round cups of coffee for all that need them!**
DNMS - Oh are great aren;'t they? [insert confused smile!]
Today I will do the following:
- [STRIKE]Check online banking.[/STRIKE] Done everything is ok.
- Store cupboard breakfast, lunch and tea.

- Try not to fall asleep at my desk! Easier said than done, as I feel meh!
- Keep smiling.
have a great day everyone and sparkle!

ah hugs milly x don't stress (I know easier said than done) but stress is a huge contributory factor where crohn's is concerned. You're health is much more important than college. And whatever happens it will work out for the best xxxDF as at 30/12/16

Had a whoopsie with a bag off ebay I'd been wanting off ebay (but it was new and hide) for £60 last night off ebay....so more juggling and potentially nothing off debts this month... (apart from what goes out anyways)
Anyhow bad few days so here I am again...catching up and trying to recover.
I figure a cheap get away is wild camping in Deeside...considering there's no one in St. A's to couchsurf with right now and Skye is a days journey away might be necessary
Today's recovery agenda is
AM- Tobacco/money/morrisons
- Bike fix (hopefully free
) and hosp for sunglasses (left there last week)
PM- chaplaincy
- potter (ironing methinks
- Menu plan (stuff like that)
EVE
Prayer meeting
