Frozen mixed veg for the summer, as my veg goes off after a day at the mo.
Brown Rice is tasty and I either serve rice or new potatoes with each meal.
Pasta is my regular life safer when time runs out for a proper meal.0 -
I use tinned tomatoes a lot as bases for sauces to go with almost anything - rice, pasta, cous cous, potatoes:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

'Fraid it's potatoes, rice, pasta and bread for us. I find they provide enough variety. We have mostly wholemeal bread and brown and white rice. Sacks of spuds are really good value. We sometimes have couscous and bulghar but I find them more expensive than my other staples.0

Forgot to add that we eat a lot of pulses too, also barley and oats.0

I use a lot of vegetarian mince type stuff - bolognese, chilli, cottage pie etc. Bulgar wheat, soya beans, tofu, various varieties of rice, sweet potatoes, buttnernut squash, mushrooms - good for stuffing with vaious things (ditto peppers).0

Bulgar Wheat/Burghal - scrummy with stews etc, like tastier rice. We have it once a week at least.....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0

They don't go with everything, but noodles are a good store cupboard stand-by too.0
