I'm afraid I'm agreeing with Pixie, you will need to wake up and smell the value coffee so to speak.
With regards to the caravan, your kids will understand if you explain it to them, embarressing yes, but nessesary if they are old enough. My parents buried their heads in the sand and I remember having to open the door to bailiffs because I was a kid they couldn't come in.
You will get your lightbulb moment at some point and when you do this community will greet you with open arms. This site is not the instant fix there are some long haulers you might want to look out.

hiya guys a forum newbe here just looking thru the forum to see if anyone mentioned these DMP. A guy rang me and to be honest it sounds a good idea but i'm just not sure. He reckons it will take 6 years to clear our debts but at least the credit cards will finally disappear from our lives forever .
Any advice gratefully received.
Just to say i posted on this topic as a previous poster mentioned DMPs i wasn't sure how to start a new post thanx xx0 -
Hi Dinky,
Welcome to the boards!
If you go back to the main DFW board, you'll see a blue 'button' on the left hand. You can click that and start your own thread.
There's also a 'sticky' at the top of the page (it's called 'Help for first time posters') which will give you lots of info!!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Hi again Bigt,
It's great to see so many responses on here! How are you going with getting your head around things now? Reducing debt is so hard, but seeing your hard work pay off is very fulfilling! I keep a record of how I'm doing and I love crossing off debtors/reducing amounts. I even aim to do my SOA every few months to check I am being good now!
Keep up the good work!I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

hi climb
i am starting to get my head around what is required now..
i have got the ball rolling with cccs and am about to go down the road of a DMP hopefully this is the best solution to get things back on track
i will keep posting updates and asking for advice as things change.....

Have you tried shopping at Aldi/Lidl to help with reducing your grocery bills?0

got my DMP pack through and i am just about to start the process of sending out all the letters and send off the info required by cccsand maybe then the constant phone calls will ease for a while.
can anyone tell me do i cancel the DD to all on my DMP or do i hold off until i have sent back the info to cccs and had a response?
i feel i should cancel immediately in order that the DD payment dont push me over my overdraught and cause me to miss a more important payment such as the mortgage
i intend to keep posting as i go along and if anyone wishes to lend some advice i would be grateful as it is great to know that there are others out there who have been there and understand!!!0 -
i have spent the evening getting it done and have filled in the pack and all the creditor letters. have them enveloped and addressed ready to send tomorow morning
i have decided to go ahead and cancel all the DDs as i cant take the risk of missing more important bills. did it online and glad i did as i feel relieved!!!!
i feel better knowing that i have a budget to stick to now and my only concern now is how many creditors will accept the offer but will keep you all up to date!!!!
time for bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......0
