Transfer of Equity when remortgaging?

Currently the property is in my husbands name.
We are remortgaging and adding me to the mortgage.
Does anyone know if this is done along side the remortgage or if the remortgage has to be in place first?
I'm currently waiting to hear back from a solicitor to see how long it takes but thought i'd ask on here in the meantime.
Thanks

Hi,
the transfer of equity normally happens the same time as the remortgage. IMO it's best to get your lender's consent to the remortgage before instructing your solicitor.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
