Met Parking Chasing B/f

argh...a while back my boyfriend sold his Clio to a guy off eBay..however me being daft as a brush forgot to send his DVLA paperwork off and ever since the car has been registered as in my b/fs name despite the ebay guy driving it! God knows why the buyer did not check to see if he had received his log book!
Anyway...since this time, my b/f has received a mcdonalds met parking fine even though it's not his car anymore. The ebay guy has clearly been parking dodgily etc.
I took it upon myself to call up the DVLA and explain it is not his car since he sold it on ebay..I even posted a copy of the ebay sale...and the date of the sale. DVLA then sent a letter back to say that in the future this is not acceptable but they would change the database over and chase the ebay guy's details.
BUT....ever since this..MET have now sent another fine saying a bailiff will come around and the charge has gone up to 150 quids..
Now I know MET is a scam but try telling this to his Mum who thinks he is about to get a CCJ. All advice says just to ignore the letters but his mums reads them as he moved out a while ago arghhhhhh!
Advice?

Yes, I would just ignore it. Have a look at the pepipoo website.
Did they say that Bailiffs will come round or did they say May come round.
If they say Will, they are breaking the law and I would report them.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
As McKneff says, ignore. If his mother is determined not to do that and get stressed then there's plenty of material out there supporting this stance (the watchdog article is nice and reputable), and if that isn't good enough then well... you can lead a horse to water, and all that.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0

Find a diplomatic way of telling his mother to leave his post alone and butt out of it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
