Loudan Castle or M and Ds

Options
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help. I've exchanged clubcard vouchers for vouchers I can use at either Loudan Castle or M and Ds. I haven't been to either of them before and was wondering with one is most recommended? I'd be taking my hubby with our 7 year old and 5 year old. Many thanks for the help in advance
I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it and I don't know why I'll do it again

    Louden definately. no contest.
a great day out for all. (pack a lunch)
there's a castle, animals &rides of all sorts.

M&Ds is just a bunch of thrill rides- kind of an old style fairground feel
not much there for the adults imho.

    Definitely Loudon Castle!:j
Especially for the age group of your kids but M&Ds is pretty grubby whereas Loudon Castle has a nice feel to it. Lots for young kids. and they can just play about on the grass if they want. You can easily spend a day at Loudon Castle.

There's also a nice cafe which I remember as being pretty reasonable (for these kinds of places)

    Have a lovely time.

I stay near the M&Ds and have often asked why people think it's so great. It is a little grubby and there aren't really that many rides.

On the other hand I have never been to Louden but would quite fancy going over the summer

Loudon Castle for those ages, definitely, there are more 'smaller' rides.

I'll never forget DD on the mini vertical tower thing that lifts them straight into the air, she just ran up and got on it without watching what it did first.:rotfl: We knew, so let her go ahead. she was about 7 at the time, iirc

There are plenty of areas to eat a picnic at Loudon too, so you can bring your own.

M&Ds was full of teens covered in fake tan running around with no parents, more for older kids, imho.

Louden every time. The rides at M&D's are more likely to give you whiplash than enjoyment. I too live near it, and there's one ride the locals won't go on because your neck is always in agony when you come off it. Think it's because it's so old that it batters you around a bit too much.

Taking the kids to the beach today, so may pop in and check Loudon out on the way home :)

Louden Castle has more to appeal to younger children. I haven't been for a while but the cafe used to be reasonably priced as well. Only plus that M&D's has is that you don't need to pay if you aren't going to ride. Everyone pays at Louden castle. Agree that M&D's is tatty and needs maintenance.
