is anyone posting how good/bad the pontins £10 deal was

hi everyone, not sure if this is right place but is anyone going to start a thread on how good or bad there £10 pontins holiday was? can i start the ball rolling.. i and my o/h had a great time, the best £10 i ever spent thanks to the origanal op. mega thank you.

we went to brean sands not only was the weather outstanding and the beach clen and 5 mile long. although the apartment/ chalet was a little dated it was really clean, fresh clean linen although we took our own quilts. only downside i think was the t/v channels only 3 we are not niteclubbers but enjoyed what we saw of it.. kids where having a whale of a time and lets not forget it's for familys. it was a great shame i could not have taken my grandaughter as when we got there her best friend was also staying there and they had paid £65 for budget. we also got £10 electric token free as we had to book in late due to shortage of cleaners. i had read all the horror stories and to be really honest i was expecting to be in a tin shack and almost diden't go. i took loads of cleaning stuff never needed any of it. i think our biggest outlay was the diesel which came to about £35. i won't keep going on but i had pleanty of r + r just what i needed. it would be very intresting for others to share there experiences so other people know it's not as bad as people repoted but that's my opinon

Hi our family went to Prestatyn Sands in Wales, again we read all the horror stories and took our own cleaning materials of which we used none! The chalet was spotless and the actual layout of the camp was actually quite good.
We also arrived late, we picked up our keys from security and that was it, was given a free £20 token for the electric also. The weather was fantastic, 2 minutes from the beach, the 1st day we were on the beach at 8am! The children enjoyed it so much, the swimming pool was very warm and this is where we spent most of our mornings, afternoons were spent with the Bluecoats and they were very professional, the evenings were wonderful, lots of dancing and competitions for the children also.
We took our own food to cook and the basic looking cooker was actually very very good!
Like i said we had read all the horror stories about Pontins and those stories we found were just stories, my advice take them with a pinch of salt, afterall it was a £10 holiday and therefore i wasn't expecting The Hilton.
The only downside (if there was one) was the sofa bed. Although nice to sit on, it wasn't the best to sleep on.
A holiday at the end of the day is what you make of it.
    Would we go again...? Absolutely!!

Many thanks to the OP who posted the original thread. :)

  • Hello.

We're looking at booking a Pontins holiday for later this month (we haven't been away for 5 years and wanted something that was affordable and would be entertaining for our 3yr old). I keep seeing that people have spent £10 to go - the chalet we've seen is a budget one and is £168! How did you get to go for £10??

    Thanks

i am sorry you have not been away for a long time, it's hard i know. the deal was posted on the grabbit board, you had to make a donation to the leukaemia society ( a very worthy cause ) of £10 i think it's a deal that goes very quick and i don't know how often the deal comes up. i am still a newbie on here so i think someone with more experiance would be able to answer better. i hope you get away soon xx

Hi , we have just got back from a weekend in Pontins Southport , and it was fantastic - I had read many horror stories about this one and was very dubious as it is probably the furthest site from where we live but the only one with availability for the time we wanted , I have no complaints whatsoever , the site is 2 mins from the beach there are plenty of activities , the chalet was clean and tidy ( a bit old looking maybe ) and I would definately go back there again , My daughter went to Camber Sands last week and has said exactly the same - we all had a fantastic time , many many thanks to the OP for sharing this deal
