Hi
Our Mortgage was completed on Wednesday so today is Friday and we have just had a chat and decided that we wanna be MFW's. We have worked out that we can regularly over pay by £20 a month which going off the calculators knocks 2 and abit years and saves over £5000 :j . We are also going to use my old piggy bank to be a mortgage pig. Initally going to put £2 coins in it (nice and easy for hubby to remember)
. Thats about it really just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to the WFW board joannasmum, the mortgage pig idea is a brilliant idea, and has helped me no end in saving towards paying off my mortgage!!! Like Mr Tesco says, every little helps, and this board is excellent with ideas for that!!!!0

Welcome to you all. We also have large mortgage (unfortunately we are londoners as are all our family hence 185k mortgage for "normal 3bed house").
We like joannasmum are trying to pay minimum of £20 a month, as it all helps. We have been v.inspired by everyone on here, and all the mortgage piggers, regardless of how much you can afford to pay off, from the pence to the pounds, its all helping!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0
