Why do I have to pay the lenders land registry fee when I pay this in conveyancing?

My lender is charging a land registry free of £200. Why do I have to pay this when I am already paying a land registry fee of £200 in my conveyancing?
Thanks

You are registering your title to the property.
The lender registers their lien on it.
The same solicitor can do it altogether,
but they will fob you off with something like that's what the solicitor charges them.
If the total cost is reasonable, why waste time.
They will only move it to sundry disbursement or something.0 -

But if i,m paying it at the Solicitors why should I have to pay it at the mortgage?0 -
There are fees for registering your ownership and for registering their lien. Have a look at the Land Registry fees scale to see what those charges made by the Land Registry will be for your purchase.0

You know what, you are absolutely right.
The valuation is just to keep the lender happy, we know exactly how much we bought the house for, so why should we pay it.
Building insurance is for the benefit of the lender if the house should burn down, so obviously they should pay the premium, and not me.
In fact, we are paying for everything in this one sided deal.
I look forward to the day when we get fee free mortgages,
where the lender pays the costs, free furniture transport and we don't start payment until six months after we move in.
I had a conversation with an American wo says he has done extensive research, and that the government has no legal basis for demanding taxes from the people. All these tax rules are just part of a propaganda campaign that scares people into paying taxes. If only somebody would rise up and legally challenge the government, then we can all stop paying taxes.
Power to the people!

Then set up your own lenders and show us the error of our ways Pincher.0

Ask the broker or contact the lender and ask them why. When I was doing the land registry registrations a few years ago I don't remember them charging extra to register a lenders interest on the records and the fees were paid by the solicitors since the solicitors contacted the land registry and not the lender.
At the end of the day you can try to get them to waive it or you can pay it. If they won't waive it and you don't want to pay it find another mortgage company.0
