has anyone had their rings designed and made?
i like the idea of having one-off rings designed and made specifically for us but am looking for some advice if anyone has done the same.
thanks in advance.

Hi, I am getting a bespoke wedding ring, as my engagement ring has a twisty shape round the diamond and makes its a non standard shape.
I am getting a local jewellery designer to do it, and its costing £535 for a platinum band. They came up with 3 designs to start with and said that if I didnt like any of them then it was no prob, but one was exactly what I had in mind!
They are also going to resize my engagement ring s I have lost weight (and intending to lose more) so that is great.
I dont know if £535 is a good price or not, but I loved the design, really liked the designer, and as they are local too, I am happy to support them.
They do some beautiful pieces and am tempted to get my bridesmaid gifts from them as well.0 -
I guess that mine are bespoke, as we bought a plain band in Neweys in Birmingham Jewellery and asked them to finish it in a unique way that we couldn't see on the shelves. The jeweller came out and spoke to us whilst he was finishing the bands, to confirm what we wanted. We didn't even think about it at the time but as they would finish the ring how we wanted, I guess that makes them slightly more unique! (ours were not very expensive at all)...0

I am having mine made by a jeweller in Hatton Garden. It's taken a little longer than they initially quoted but I hope it will be worth it!!Kavanne

If you want something really different and bespoke then why not have a Kushla ring?

I'm a bit like indiegirl - having a ring from the jewellery quarter in Birmingham, not made to order from scratch but finished off to my specification. It's a basic court shaped platimum band in which they are setting small diamonds in a certain way because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted ready made up in any of the shops there. Cost is £600 total after I haggled a bit.
OH is having a palladium ring from the same shop, again a regular court shaped band which they are finishing off with a couple of engraved lines to make it a bit more interesting. Cost £300.
There were also shops there who would make whatever you wanted from scratch which would be great if you had an odd-shaped engagement ring to match or had a totally original design in mind.
Obviously I'm biased, but think if you can get something a bit more personalised rather than a "ready made" ring from the high street for a similar price you'd be mad not to - I love the idea that my ring will be unique and exactly what I wanted

We also had our rings made in the jewellery quarter in Brum. Tell them what you want, or better take a sketch, and they will make it for you.0

I have also had my wedding ring made by a local jeweller. Had a white gold band with diamonds to fit perfectly against my engagement ring. It lovely and only cost £295! The quality is much better than something that I could have bought pre-made from a shop.
Just go into a jeweller and have a chat with them. Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0 -
