finance but on the wrong product
Options
Hi all,
New to this site so saying hello.
I have a question regarding finance more importantly motorbike finance.
I have decided to make the move to two wheels and found a bike i liked, they had a 0% deal on the model and this was approved.
However before i signed all the paper work etc I changed my mind and went for a slightly different model but a little more expensive.
I was told however that this wasn't available on 0% normally but the salesman said he would see if he could arrange, which he did.
I went to pick the bike up yesterday and whilst checking paper work noticed the figures in the finance agreement were not the same as on my invoice and further investigation revealed that actually the model was different to the one i was getting.
It appears the salesman has informed the finance company of a different bike in equivalent value that is on a 0% deal but using the VIN and Reg of my bike, a different model.
I refused to sign the papers until i sought advice as i think it is fraudulent and want no part in a fraudulent transaction.
Is it correct that this is fraud and that if i signed this that i would be a part of this fraud or would all responsibility for this lie with the salesman as it was he who set up the deal?
Many thanks

I don't know about the legalities around it mate but I wouldn't risk it. To me it sounds a bit too dodgy. Don't forget as well the paperwork will not match the bike you are buying, therefore could your bike be classed as stolen. Don't like the sound of this. I'd avoid it like the plague and take your business elsewhere.0

I agree don't touch it with a barge pole.0

I also agree, if the details of the contract are wrong do not sign it until they are corrected. As you are signing to say you agree with it and that it is correct when obviously it is not. Take it up with the persons manager.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
