More questions!!

Sorry to ask more questions, but I asked this on another thread and I think it got lost.

Regarding car insurance, has anyone any experience of post office? I have been insured with them for a few years wih no problems, im only third party due to having a old car.

Does any one know if they will insure me once br and if so would I be better to change to fully comp before I go br.
My credit rate is now rubbish after being on dmp etc so dont know if they will still let me insure with them anyway. I pay monthly by dd at moment. renewal not due to next yeat but am worried that if Im only 3rd party while br and anything happens I might bewithout a car. Hope all that makes sense.
Cant afford to pay in one go so need to pay monthly.

Sorry for all he questions I just want to sort as much out as I can before br.

Thanks

    Deja vu?

Does any one know if they will insure me once br and if so would I be better to change to fully comp before I go br. [will depend who they now use for insurer. In the past, I found they used Budget. Be aware, the cheaper insurers [like Budget] charge huge administration fees every time a change in the policy is made...new car, drivers, etc. When I was last with Post Office [Budget], they charged £25 per administrative item!!!]
My credit rate is now rubbish after being on dmp etc so dont know if they will still let me insure with them anyway. I pay monthly by dd at moment. [as they already allow you to pay monthly, there is no reason why they should not continue to do so. However, that cannot be guaranteed once renewal comes up. As far as I'm aware, Post Office [Budget] operate on a system of ''automatic renewal'' ie they continue to take whatever premium they want from your bank, on renewal.....requiring the policy holder to inform them in writing beforehand, if the PH does not accept the new premium, or wishes to change insurer.......relying on customer inertia for continued business....if needs be, keep an eye on whatever new premium they might wish to charge...after all, a failed DD means expense on your part?]... renewal not due to next yeat but am worried that if Im only 3rd party while br and anything happens I might bewithout a car. [3rd party only cover , whilst perfectly adequate, if accompanied by an ''uninsured losses'' cover..very cheap for what it is.......may not be very much less expensive than fully comp. However, being fully comp does not guarantee you would be without a car in event of a claim. To ensure continued transport you would need additions to the policy, such as 'Hire car'...and I have had benefit of this, even with 3rd party insurance...other party deemed at fault, so claimed via 'uninsured losses''cover. Might be worth checking out other insurers now, pre-BR? A change of insurer might well prove beneficial, although NCD accrued for this current year might be lost. Have a look at Co-op Insurance? A bit more costly than Budget/PO, but sound cover, and they do instalments via DD....I have been with them for a few years now...70%-plus NCD.....and no hassles throughout BR.....]Hope all that makes sense.

If in doubt, put aside a monthly amount now for the future...just in case?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
