IFA practice or Bancassurance?

Hello all. I have recently obtained the certificate in financial planning. I work in a bespoke Financial Planning firm in a paraplanning type-role.
I am faced with a situation where i want to get into a client facing job (an adviser) - but unsure whether i want to do this through the independent firm im at now, or jump ship into (ultimately) a bank.
Where is the greater potential in the short and long term in the two options?
I have been hinted by my boss that there is a role available but i'll probably self employed.
Any IFA's or FA's here that can shed some light on this?
I have a longer term ambition of eventually becoming self employed - but now may be not appropriate due to my young age and lack of experience.

I wouldn't expect banks to be rushing to offer you a good job with good prospects with just the certificate.
Stay loyal with the small firm for the time being; likely to be far better for your career.0
