Probably buildable for under £500 including fully legal software, based on online component prices, so probably not bad for £599.

However, HP do have a habit of using awful components in terms of upgrade potential, built into cases that need a gynaecologist to work on, so I'd sooner build my own!

  • leave this alone! its always tempting to buy an all in one package when its there right under your nose in the store but honestly this is a waste of money. I was in tescos today and had a look at the spec. - its obviously integrated graphics; scandalous for the price they are asking. Anyone wanting a brand new pc now should be looking for a 'Windows Vista ready' system - and though this might run it; it doesnt look like its particularly upgradable. Save your money; get a system that has a dual core processor, a decent graphics card and a motherboard that can take 2gig of memory at least - if it doesnt meet this spec. then wait and save - it will be worth it in the long run honest!
