in Cutting tax
Hello,I was wondering if someone could help with this. I think I am doing it wrong.
Single Person 24 years old earning £148.00 per week gross. His only job.
How much tax and Ni does he get taken off him and how much is employers contributions?
I have tried online tax calculator and it is coming up with £29.00 per week tax but I thought you got so much earnings tax free.
Any help greatly appreciated.

You dont seem to have had any answers and I am no expert but you can earn about £120 before tax is taken of the rest at 20%
Ni, not sure but not very much on £148.00
Hopefully someone will be along with exact figures.
Did the job start April, (before or after) because you still get an 'allowance for weeks not actually worked' in this tax year.
Is his tax code 647. This means that they can earn £6470 per year (divide this by 52 to get the weekly amount allowed before tax is payable.)
Hope that helps for now.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Assuming your tax code is 647L you should be paying about £4.70 tax and £4.18 NI weekly.
The employers NI would be £4.86.
These figures were obtained from this calculator:-
